Mark initially joined the firm of Astor & Phillips in 1982 specializing in tax law, real estate, estate planning and probate matters. While continuing to develop his practice in complex business and estate planning matters, Mark transitioned into forming and advising closing held corporations and limited liability companies and has served as both a board member and general counsel for various firm clients. In 2006, Mark became chief operating officer and general counsel for Western Milling, LLC, an established company in the California feed and grain industry which was rapidly expanding to incorporate renewable fuels and fuel byproducts as part of the Company's operations. Since 2006, Mark has remained as Of Counsel to Astor & Phillips.
Mark received a business degree with an emphasis in accounting from California State University at Long Beach. He graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, a national business fraternity. Mark attended Loyola Law School and received his juris doctorate, with honors. Following graduation from law school, Mark worked with the national accounting firm of Arthur Anderson specializing in business, individual and estate taxation. Mark is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), is a current member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Tax Court. Mark is also a member of various professional organizations including the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
